Market town of Colchester in Essex is situated on the banks of the river Colne. It is an important ancient town and contains a number of interesting old structures � including the keep of the Norman Castle, the largest in England. The keep was built using remain of roman temple of Claudius the remains of which lies beneath the present keep. It is also thought to be the site of the Roman Massacre by the Iceni.
