Holy Trinity Church is on the banks of the River Avon where the original village of Stratford was. As these Victorian engravings show, it remained the most distinctive building for centuries after its construction.
Shakespeare was baptised here on the 26th April 1564, and when he died in 1616 he was buried in the church on the 25th April although there is no precise record of the date of his death.
