Elstow Moot Hall set on the village green at Elstow, was built in the late 15th century as a market house in connection with the village fairs. There were fairs for all sorts of cattle held in May and November as well as the annual May Fair with all kinds of entertainment. The hall was used for storage and as a place for hearing disputes arising out of the fairs. It is now a museum illustrating English 17th century life and traditions containing period furniture.
