From the 1960's onwards the development of satellite telescopes has allowed humans to look deeper and deeper into space and has intensified the debate as to the possibility of alien life and contact with earth. The latest is the Hubble telescope shown in the picture. Launched in April 1990, the Hubble has looked deeper into space and discovered secrets of the universe unobserved by earth-bound telescopes
