Sir Thomas Boleyn (Ann's father), Ann Boleyn and King Henry VIII. Henry was infatuated with Ann and she became his second wife in 1533. When Ann failed to provide Henry with a son, Henry wished to be rid of Anne. He charged Cromwell, Duke of Norfolk, to carry out a secret investigation to find grounds on which he could be rid of his second wife. Eventually Anne was charged with adultery and put on trial for treason -the penalty for this was death. Ann's father Sir Thomas Boleyn assisted in the treason trials.
