Blickling Hall is an impressive house of red brick built in the 17th century. The current Blickling Hall was built in the reign of James I, by the Hobarts, in 1616. However, the site has a long history stretching back way before the building of the present house. The first manor house built at Blickling was owned by Harold, Earl of the East Saxons, later King of England. In 1437, the manor was brought by Geoffrey Boleyn and later inherited by his grandson Sir Thomas Boleyn, whose daughter Anne became Henry VIII's second wife in 1533.
