Hedge bindweed has large snowy-white flowers with no markings. The flowers stay open into the night, all night if there is moonlight. It climbs up shrubs such as hawthorn by its stem which twists anticlockwise around the plant. It flowers July - September. Photographed at Old Warden Bedfordshire late August 2005.
