This climbing plant twines to the left around other plants. It produces sprays of small greeny-white flowers (May - July). These are followed by berries which turn bright red in Autumn. The berries are poisonous and can be fatal if eaten and also cause blistering of the mouth and skin. Cattle can become addicted to the plant and sometimes die as a result. Pictured at Old Warden Bedfordshire early September 2005.
