A very common plant of roadsides and hedges. In legend, yarrow was used by Achilles to cure wounds made by metal. In the past it was also used to drive away evil and sickness and to prevent people being hurt in love. It has numerous feathery leaves and white clustered flowers. Pictured at Old Warden Bedfordshire late August 2005.
