This large daisy, with flowers up to 5cm in diameter, grows on grassy banks, roadsides and meadows. It flowers mainly from June to August but protected within a railway cutting this plant was still flowering on 10th October. In former times the plant was boiled and the extract used to cure many illnesses including chest and liver complaints and sore eyes. Pictured October at Stevington old railway cutting.
