In the early 1900's new stories emerged about Santa. It is believed that he lives at the North Pole or in north Finland in Lapland. Everyone agrees that he travels through the sky on a sledge that is pulled by reindeer. He comes into houses down the chimney at night and places presents for the children in socks or bags by their beds, in front of the Christmas tree, or by the fire place. The original Santa, -St Nicholas, rode a white horse and wore a bishop's clock. Nowadays Santa dresses in red.
