Osiers are a common feature of lowland Britain with long branches arising from pruned trees or arising naturally by streams, lakes and fens. Many are hybrids of different willows such as white willow or crack willow. The bright stems cheer up winter landscapes in spring/summer they produce long thin green leaves.
