A very common perennial found on hedgebanks, in woods and grassy places. It was supposed to be good for healing wounds and for breathing problems. It has heart shaped fruits and blue flowers with a white ring in the centre and four petals, the lower petal being narrower than the others. Two stamens protrude beyond the flower. Picture taken on April 23rd 2006 near Elstow, Bedfordshire.
