This plant was often grown in gardens but is now naturalised. Here it is growing in a wood border a long way from any garden. It has spotted leaves and flowers April - May. It can have both pink and blue/mauve flowers on the same plant. The name comes from its leaves that people thought resembled lung tissue and it was thought to cure lung ailments.
