This plant was often grown in gardens but is now naturalised. Here it is growing in a wood border a long way from any garden. It has spotted leaves and flowers April - May. It can have both pink and blue/mauve flowers on the same plant. The name comes from its leaves that people thought resembled lung tissue and it was thought to cure lung ailments. Picture taken near Stagsden, Bedfordshire 17th April 2006.
