A widely cultivated crop, often the seeds spread to the surrounding countryside. A member of the cabbage (cruciferae) family, oilseed rape can can be seen flowering widely in April and May both as a cultivated crop and as an escape along country roadsides. Picture taken near Cardington, Bedfordshire on 20th May 2006.
