Goldilocks Buttercup (Ranunculus auricomus)

This Buttercup has kidney shaped leaves (three lobed) at the root and narrow stem leaves. There are few flowers. The flowers are golden yellow 1.5-2.5cm. Often a petal is missing. The fruit is spiked. It is usually found in woods on basic soils. Picture Taken 14th May 2006 at Odell Great Wood, Bedfordshire.
