Bush vetch has trailing stems with tendrils. Each flower head has up to six blooms. There are five to nine pairs of leaflets. The sepals are joined forming a tube. Flowers are mauve to purple. This plant scrambles over other plants using its twining tendrils. Its nectar attracts bees to its closed flowers. It flowers May to August growing in grassy places and hedges. Picture taken 18th May near Northill, Bedfordshire.
