A plant occurring mainly on limestone rocks. It has a characteristic shiny leaf and small purple flowers. Rare on walls or stony waste ground. Flower diameter c 10-14 mm and are not notched. Leaves are notably shiny, quite unlike the downy appearance of leaves, which are of a similar shape. Flowers are in pairs. Picture taken at Elstow, Bedfordshire - May 28th 2006
