Ragged Robin grows in marshes, wet meadows and damp woodlands. The plant has a tall slender flowering stem. The petals are divided into four thin segments with forked white scales. The reddish brown sepals form a tube with short teeth below the flower. The flowers are usually pink but can be white. It was once believed that if picked thunder and lightning would occur. Picture taken in the woods near Old Warden, Bedfordshire - June10th 2006.
