Female catkins releasing their seeds on a fallen branch of Crack Willow. Crack willow is a spreading tree, with brittle branches and twigs. Its long leaves are hairless when mature. In both species the male catkins have two stamens per flower. Picture taken 11th June 2006 at Felmersham, Bedfordshire.
