The roof consists of untreated oak, ash and hazel a layer of reed is laid beneath the thick layer of turf. The roof is capped with sedge thatch. When wet the roof weighs around eight tonnes. Picture taken on 6th August 2006 at Flag Fen, Cambridgeshire.
