This is one of the smallest and most primitive breeds of British sheep. These sheep would have been similar to the type of sheep kept by the bronze age people. The bones of sheep excavated at Flag Fen are a close match those of this breed. Picture taken on 6th August 2006 at Flag Fen, Cambridgeshire.
