Pole-lathe and Oven

The pole-lathe was used to make wooden cups and bowls and tool handles. People used their feet to turn the wood whilst it was shaped with a cutting tool held in the hand. The oven would be used to fire pots. Picture taken at West Stow, Suffolk 2006.
