There is no direct evidence for a building like this at West Stow, but it is based upon actual buildings from the end of this period. The workshop was built in 1991 to meet some present day needs at the site. It has an oak framework with infill of wattle and clay. The bucket kept near the fire would be likely as fire was a constant threat in a wooden house.
