The chamber in the ship collapsed within a century of its burial. The decaying objects were crushed into a thin layer. Archaeologists continue to argue about the surviving evidence; was the body in a coffin or low platform, or was there a body at all? There was no body found but iron clamps which could have held on a coffin lid were present.
