This map shows an early Anglo-Saxon Settlement. The people of West Stow were farmers. They lived peacefully in the village. They made their own iron pottery and cloth. They kept sheep, cattle, pigs, ponies, geese and hens. They hunted with dogs and fished the nearby river. They traded for glass beads and other luxury products from as far away as Europe and beyond. Picture taken at West Stow Anglo-Saxon settlement and Museum August 2006.
