This plant is pollinated by bees and produces a delicate scent. It is able to survive crushing and trampling since the growth occurs from the protected base of the plant, hence it is often found in locations where other plants cannot survive. Each flower has four whitish sepals each with a green keel and four white or colourless petals. Each hairy stalk has a single densely packed flower head. The wide ribbed leaves narrow into a short stalk. Picture taken at Elstow, Bedfordshire 26th August 2006.
