This plant has vivid magenta-pink flowers. It can be distinguished from narrow-leaved everlasting pea because the stiples at the base of the leaves are more than half the width of the stem (in the case of the other species they are less than half of the width). It grows on wasteland, grassland and often on old railway banks. Unlike the Narrow-leaved everlasting pea (which is native to the UK), this plant was introduced and has naturalized in places. The name everlasting refers to the fact it is a perennial plant. It flowers June to August. Picture taken at Felmersham, Bedfordshire on 27th August 2006. For more pictures see the June plant diary.
