A plant (30-100cm) with branched flower heads of bright yellow, a cottony stem and ragged divided leaves. It is common to neglected pastures, roadsides, wasteland and dunes. It is often a pest of agricultural land and if accidentally harvested with hay can harm livestock as it contains an alkaloid poison. It flowers June to October. Picture taken on 26th July at Stevington, Bedfordshire.
