This is a letter dated 24 February 1892 from the Association for Preventing the Immigration of Destitute Aliens, 15b Arlington St, London SW to WA Tyssen Amherst Esq. requesting him to become a member and subscriber. The association was founded by Arnold White in 1891 mainly in protest against the recently arrived Jewish settlers from eastern Europe and Russia. Included is an advertisement for a recently published book entitled "The Alien Invasion" by WH Wilkins, a secretary of the association.
