These papers come from the Overseers Accounts for Chatteris, Cambridgeshire 1814-1816. In July 1815 James Wright, the Chatteris constable was paid expenses for arresting and imprisoning six Irishmen "as were very riotous". The arrest and imprisonment overnight had required 4 assistants who needed food, ale, fire, candles and beds. On the back of the account was a list of names and amounts of money and pen sketches of two men.
