This is the skeleton of a Romano-British man found in Cannons Close, Bishop’s Stortford. It is possible that he was a Roman soldier. He suffered from a bad back, arthritis, and broke many of his bones during his lifetime. He was obviously rich as he was buried in an expensive stone coffin
