This Palaeolithic hand axe was found in Lindsey Road, Bishop’s Stortford. It is judged to be between 400,000 and 250,000 years old meaning that it was made by our human ancestors, before modern humans ‘Homo Sapiens Sapiens’ evolved. It was constructed from a nodule of flint
