Alexander Graham Bell, Gallows Phone 1875 never transmitted audible speech, but the noise it did produce spurred Bell & Watson to obtain Bell's first Patent granted on 7th March 1876, they beat (by hours) Elisha Gray who was also working on a solution, and contested against it. The model here is made from simple drawings left by Bell.
