The Georgian House was built in 1790 for John Pinney, a West India merchant. It was also home to the enslaved African, Pero (after whom Pero's Bridge at the Harbourside is named). It is displayed as it might have looked in the 18th century and provides an insight into life above and below stairs. The House has six floors. The ground first and second floors were used by the family and the basement, sub-basement and attic by the servants. With thanks to 'The Georgian House Museum', 7 Great George Street, Bristol, BS1 5RR.
