The smooth running of the rich Georgian/Regency House depended on the efficiency of the servants. The kitchen was situated in the basement above the wine cellars and storage areas for coal, the heating furnace and water tank. It was the 'hub' of the house. With thanks to 'The Georgian House Museum', 7 Great George Street, Bristol, BS1 5RR.
