The roasting screen, which has a brass and clockwork bottle-jack for rotating the meat. This would be placed infront of the fire when in use; a door in the back allows the joint to be basted during cooking. With thanks to 'The Georgian House Museum', 7 Great George Street, Bristol, BS1 5RR.
