In 1942 Ever Ready began to build radios for the civilian market. More space was still required and so the radio department. In 1957 the company produced the Sky Leader, which was Ever Ready's first transistorized receiver. A series of radios were produced over the next few years, this one the Sky Baronet dates from 1959. The company was very successful and sold many radios as well as the batteries that powered them.
