Dora Jordan, 1918. Dora Jordan was employed by the National Union of Women Workers to help Essex with polcing duties at the end of World War 1, Essex Constabulary paid for her uniform. She worked in Romford with one other lady, Mrs Wilson. Her job was very much like a social worker's today
