The Romans liked eating wildfowl and game. They ate plenty of wildfowl - swan, goose, wild duck, teal, widgeon, woodcock, plover, crane and even stork. The Romans hunted wild boar, red deer, roe deer and fallow deer. They introduced pheasants, peacocks and guinea fowl to Britain.
