A type of large serving spoon used to scoop up and soup, stews or other liquids. A ladle has a long handle terminating in a deep bowl. The bowl is sometimes oriented at an angle to the handle to make it eaier to transfer the liquid from the main serving pot to the bowl. Ladles are usually made of stainless steel and come in a variety of sizes, to suit different uses.
