This is a picture of the New Chapel. The artist was looking at it from First Court.

The New Chapel was built in 1866-9 to make room for all the new students who wanted to come the College. At that time going to services was still compulsory.

It replaced the Old Chapel, which was built in the 1200s. The Old Chapel was part of a monastry which once stood on the site of the College.
