The Gendarmenmarkt district of Berlin is home to a large square where vistors can see the German and French cathedrals as well as the Berlin Konzerthaus. The German cathedral was originally built in 1708, modified in 1785 and almost totally destroyed during world war two. It was rebuilt after German reunification.
