The Gendarmenmarkt district of Berlin is home to a large square where vistors can see the German and French cathedrals as well as the Berlin Konzerthaus. The French cathedral was originally built in 1701-05, modified in 1785 and seriously damaged during world war two. It was rebuilt after German reunification.
