The Reichstag is a very important site in German history. After much renovation this former Headquarters of the German Parliament is now home to the Bundestag (the lower Parliament).
The Reichstag was completed in 1894 and has been considered a very prominent building in German politics since. It was set on fire in 1933, apparently by Nazi supporters, bombed by the Allies during World War II and also stormed by Russian troops in 1945.
