This plant is not native to Britain but was introduced to parks and gardens. However it can occasionally be found growing in woods and hedgebanks. It has a ruff of deeply cut petals underneath a flower consisting of bright yellow sepals (no petals are present). It flowers January to March. This plant was flowering at Harrold Country Park.
