Leaves just starting to develop. This plant is very common in hedgerows throughout England and Wales. It is the ancestor of the modern garden rose. It was a valuable medicinal plant and, from the hips, Rosehip syrup which is rich in vitamin C is produced. It flowers June - July with the hips forming August - September.
