This beetle can be recognised by the twin red spots on its elytra (wing cases)and the tufts of buff hair on its face and at the base of its antennae. It is around 5-6mm long. It can be found from April to early August on vegetation, where it hunts on flowers and amongst grasses. Picture taken at Old Warden Woods on 29th May 2012.
