The chickens in this picture are table birds. This means they are raised for their meat rather than for producing eggs. The chickens come to the farm at 1 day old. It is a short life of just 42 days (8 weeks) before they are ready for slaughter to provide high quality chicken produce. The chickens are processed on the farm. Whilst they are on the farm they are well looked after and have plenty of room in which to move about.
